George Akom Donates To  Sekyere Afram Plains  Police

Mr. George Akom, NPP Parliamentary Candidate Hopeful for Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency has donated to
Ghana Police Service in the Sekyere Afram District of Ashanti Region.
He made a presentation of various items to the District Police Command at Drobonso, the district capital.
Mr. Akom donated reflective jackets, torchlights and other assorted reflective items to the District Police Service.
During the short ceremony at the Police Station, Mr. Akom indicated that he had seen the addition of new staff from the Community Police Program and the need for additional resources to support their work activities. He added that visibility of the police personnel on our roads provides safety to both drivers and pedestrians, especially in the night. He emphasized that those items would provide some support to the officers to carry out their duties efficiently.
During his acceptance speech, the Ag. Station Officer, Inspector Joseph Boakye Dankwa thanked Mr. George Akom for his kind gesture. He stated that he was surprised to receive such a donation from native who has the district at heart. He stated that the station lacked a lot of logistics and needed serious attention. Key among the logistics were patrol vehicle, motorbikes, staff accomodation.
Inspector Boakye Dankwa intimated that the structure of the stations needed massive renovation. He used the occasion to appeal organizations, individuals and philanthropist to come to their aid.
In attendance during the presentation ceremony were Inspector Nicholas Kwadwo Manu, CID for the District, and Inspector Eric Boadi Owusu, a Staff at the District Police Office.
All present applauded Mr. George Akom for his continuous support to the district. They assured him of their support to get him to lead the district or the Constituency at large.
