The DCE for Sekyere Afram Plains , Sulemana Hamidu has declared that he is being sponsored by NDC to contest in the NPP’s Orphan Constituencies Parliamentary Primaries.
He made this known when he visited the Chief’s Palace to officially inform the Chief and Elders at Drobonso on the day he was filing his nomination forms.
At a gathering in the Chief’s palace, he stated that he has more NDC friends and they are the ones motivating him to contest in the primaries.
He further state that he would win the seat for NPP because many of the NDC Party Members would vote him.
Amidst cheers, he stated emphatically that he would win the Primaries because many of the delegates are on his side.
NPP Orphan Constituencies Parliamentary Primaries ended on Thursday, August 10, 2023. So far 3 person filed in the same Constituency to also contest in the Primaries.
Former DCE , Joseph Owusu and George Akom successfully filed their forms to contest. Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency is one of the Constituencies in the Ashanti region which has been the seat for NDC since its creation in 2024.
Gradually, NPP’s performance in both Presidential and Parliamentary elections have been improved. This Parliamentary Primaries would the competitive elections for 3 Aspirants. All the 3 Aspirants have indicated that they are ready to work hard to win the for the first for NPP.
