At the 2023 TapTap Send Ghana Music Awards USA, Mrs. Emma Aboagye-Poku, also known as “Royal Mama,” one of Ghana’s fastest-rising gospel artists, took home the New Artist of the Year award.
The event was hosted at Columbus, Ohio’s lavish Lincoln Theater and featured hundreds of performers from around the world.
The evening event on August 26, 2023, honored both native Ghanaian artists and musicians living abroad, particularly in the USA.
One of the top honors, “New Artist of the Year,” went to Royal Mama.
By winning her third music award at the recently concluded 2023 Ghana Music Awards USA edition, Royal Mama broke a record.
She won two of the top awards at the previous event (2022 TapTap Send Ghana Music Awards USA), including Uncovered Artist of the Year and Gospel Song of the Year [Agya Maba] in the US.
Royal Mama has established her presence in the music industry despite her recent entry. She has so far released four songs, and they have amassed more than 100,000 views across all music streaming services, including YouTube.
She expressed gratitude to her manager, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Adom congregation and Team Royal’s friends and families.
She also thanked the award organizers for acknowledging her efforts and putting her up for their prestigious awards program.
