According to them, the allegations are just to destroy their relationship with the MP in question

Mr Asare Brew, Dean of the Secretaries at a press conference in Kumasi today ,Wednesday ,stated that, the group alleged that, the intended meeting with them ended up with embarrassing the Offinso North legislature, when he intended to entice the secretaries and their Assistants to rally their support for one of the potential running mates to Dr Mahammud Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party NPP come 2024 general elections, the allegation he said was unfounded.

According to him, it will be recalled that as a staunch patriot and nationalist, it is incumbent on any well meaning Ghanaian who gets the opportunity to meet fellow patriots to speak on the good works of the NPP government, which he said is in the light that the Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim, Member of Parliament for Offinso North in the Ashanti Region on his travel to Kumasi to meet with a team of Licensed Herbalists took the opportunity to address the gathering of the Ashanti Regional Association of Secretries and Assistant Secretaries meeting last Sunday in Asokwa.
He stressed that, to set the records straight and to let the general public know the truth on the pronouncements that were made in the interest of the party for which some have misconstrued it, they emphatically state that, the MP came to purposely meet with the licensed Herbalists in Kumasi, and did not convene any pre-planned meeting with the Ashanti Secretaries and their assistants
He noted that, the Ashanti Regional Association of Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries had already scheduled their meeting to discuss the extension of the limited voter registration by the Electoral Commission (EC) to know how best to get things done and to also plan a capacity Building Workshop/Training for all members and discuss how best some Executives of the Association who have now become parliamentary candidates could be supported and groom others to take over from them as Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries in the region.
Mr Brew reiterated that, they the Ashanti region Secretaries and Assistants re-echo what MP said as being favourable, well-intended, optimistic and politically expedient to the growth and expansion of the NPP in breaking the 8.
He disclosed that, Mr. Collins Ntim in his address rather urged members to be supportive of the current government, and revealed that his ministry (Ministry of Local Government) has procured equipment for all MMDAs in the entire country to enhance working through the office of the District Common Assembly Funds (DACF) headed by madam Irene Naa Toshie the government has been able to procure road construction equipment for every Assembly in Ghana. He further stated that, he strongly believes that with the single project in the local Government, for the road sector breaking the 8 is more than possible.

He urged members to embrace anybody the Flagbearer will select as Vice Presidential Candidate.
He lamented that, they members of Secretaries and Assistants find it extremely surprised, unethical and unpatriotic for some people who were not part of the meeting to deliberately cause the Noble Association of Ashanti Regional Secretaries.
He disclosed that, their views for the potential Vice Presidential Candidate should have characteristics not limited to the Moral Compass, integrity and honesty, Compassion and empathy
Commitment to service, Bridge building and reconciliation.
He said, the qualities and skills, coupled with competence, qualification, experience and relevant skills would serve the interest of Ghanaians very well and project the NPP to the entire globe, which they believe is a good call by the Mr Augustine Collins Ntim and they are glad to associate with his call and also urge all Ghanaians to respond to the call, especially NPP faithfuls, in breaking the 8.
