As the Communications Director for NPP UK, I have had the distinct honour of meeting many distinguished personalities within our party. However, my recent encounter with Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, fondly known as NAPO, stands out as a particularly humbling experience. As our Vice-Presidential candidate, NAPO’s demeanour and approachability left a lasting impression on me, and I am compelled to share my experience with fellow Ghanaians, urging everyone to embrace his candidacy with an open mind and a hopeful heart.
From the moment I was introduced to Dr. Prempeh, it was clear that he is not just a political figurehead but a true man of the people. His easy-going nature immediately put me at ease, dispelling any preconceived notions I might have had about high-ranking officials being aloof or unapproachable. NAPO’s humility is not just a façade for public appearances; it is an intrinsic part of his character that shines through in every interaction.
During our conversation, Dr. Prempeh spoke passionately about his vision for Ghana’s future. He emphasized the importance of grassroots development and the need to address the real issues faced by ordinary Ghanaians. His deep understanding of the challenges and aspirations of our people is a testament to his commitment to public service. NAPO’s approach is not about imposing top-down solutions but rather about empowering communities to take charge of their own destinies. This grassroots philosophy is what sets him apart and underscores his genuine dedication to the betterment of Ghana.
Dr. Prempeh’s track record speaks for itself. As the former Minister of Education, he implemented significant reforms that have had a lasting impact on our educational system. His tenure was marked by an unwavering commitment to improving access to quality education for all Ghanaians, regardless of their socioeconomic background. NAPO’s achievements in the education sector are a testament to his ability to translate vision into reality, benefiting countless young Ghanaians and laying a solid foundation for our nation’s future.
But beyond his professional accomplishments, it is Dr. Prempeh’s personal qualities that truly inspire confidence. His humility, empathy, and approachability make him a leader who genuinely listens to the concerns of the people. In a political landscape often characterized by division and discord, NAPO stands out as a unifying figure who can bridge gaps and foster a sense of national cohesion.
I urge all Ghanaians to keep an open mind about Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh and to give him the chance he deserves. His vision for Ghana is one that prioritizes the needs of the many over the ambitions of the few. It is a vision rooted in the belief that true progress comes from empowering every Ghanaian to contribute to our collective success.

In these times of great challenges and opportunities, we need leaders who embody the values of humility, dedication, and grassroots engagement. NAPO is such a leader. Let us come together to support his candidacy and work towards a brighter future for Ghana. Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh is not just a politician; he is a true patriot and a true grassroots man, and I am confident that under his leadership, Ghana will continue to thrive and prosper.
As I conclude, my humble meeting with Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh reaffirmed my belief in his potential to lead and inspire. His humility and genuine connection with the people are qualities that are desperately needed in our political discourse. Let us rally behind NAPO and give him the opportunity to serve Ghana with the same dedication and passion that have defined his career thus far. Together, we can build a better Ghana for generations to come.
