Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has predicted a change of government in the upcoming 2024 general elections, citing dissatisfaction with the current administration under President Akufo-Addo.

Addressing supporters at the NDC’s campaign launch in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, Gyamfi not only emphasized the readiness of Ghanaians for change but also inspired hope, declaring, “Change is coming, are you ready for change?” This message of hope is what will drive us to victory in 2024.

He underscored the party’s optimism for electoral success, asserting, “The victory of the NDC is coming again.”

Echoing Gyamfi’s sentiments, Professor Joshua Alabi, the campaign Director of the NDC, expressed unwavering confidence in the electorate’s discernment, stating, “The people are very awake and they have seen the truth.” This respect for the voters’ intelligence is a cornerstone of our campaign.

During the same event, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, a member of the NDC’s manifesto committee, detailed the party’s electoral strategy, which aims to secure 14 out of the 18 seats in the Northern Region. This strategic approach is designed to maximize our chances of success and ensure that the voice of the people is heard.

He highlighted the northern region’s pivotal role in energizing the NDC’s campaign efforts despite the Volta Region traditionally being its stronghold.

In an interview with TV3’s Mawuena Egbeta at the sidelines of the campaign launch, Afriyie Ankrah criticized President Akufo-Addo’s economic management, attributing widespread dissatisfaction to what he described as ‘abysmal performance’ such as high unemployment rates, rising cost of living, and a struggling healthcare system.

“The mismanagement of the economy will drive Ghanaians to vote for the NDC,” he affirmed.
