Renowned Ghanaian Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dr. Abdul-Muhsin Baafi has challenged political parties in Ghana to disclose their action plan on how they will go by the funding of projects captured in their manifesto.
He is of the strong opinion that, a party’s manifesto should not be only limited to just naming of policies.
“An action plan, Source of funding for the execution of each project and convincing strategies on how each policy captured in their manifestoes will be implemented must be highlighted”.
Sheikh Dr. Abdul-Muhsin made this call following the confused and fatigued state of high number of Ghanaian voters, owing to failed promises by political parties over the years.
In a latest sermon delivered on Friday, Sheikh Dr. Abdul-Muhsin, who is an Imam at Darul Hijra and Deputy Secretary for Coalition for Islamic Humanitarian Organizations, Ghana also mentioned that political parties must be compelled to state clearly their monthly plans in their manifesto.
Sheikh Dr Abdul-Muhsin Baafi said he believes that the above mentioned recommendations if adhered to will keep political parties in check and also offer Ghanaians a better perspective on the right party the must vote for to govern the country.
He told newsmen in an interview that, Ghana has come of age and that political parties must be made to understand that they can’t take Ghanaians and for that matter the development of the country for granted.
