Hundreds of aggrieved residents of Nkakaa ,a Mining community in the Amenfi Central District of the Western Region have staged demonstration against Chinese mining firm called Zea & Amenfi in the area for taken over their registered concession meant for community mining.
The Chairman of the aggrieved youth ,Nana Kwadwo Boakye popularly known as (Yedie) addressing the media during the demonstration said ,the community Mining is the only alternative source of livelihood empowerment in the community therefore they won’t sit down for the Chinese mining company to take over from them.
He said, they have proper documents attached to their community Mining therefore they don’t want any Chinese mining company to interfere in their activities.
They seized the opportunity and made humble appeal to the government and their member of parliament in the area to come to their aid before things get out of hands.
Some of the aggrieved residents in the course of the demonstration used the platform to also appealed to the government to come to their aid to support them with other aminities such as road networks, potable water,telecommunication network, market, police post and toilet facility.
