Residents of the Asante Akyem North municipality in the Ashanti region have avowed not to partake in the 2024 elections until their poor roads are fixed.

The production of produce like tomatoes, plantain, water melon, cabbage and others at Pataban, Asante Akyem Onyemso and Magyeda communities who are mainly into farming attract traders from Togo, Burkina Faso and other places to their.communities.

But the deplorable nature of their roads have massively affected their economic activities after their Member of Parliament, Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi failed to live up to his promise of fixing their roads for them.

They claim the MP began the work prior to the 2020 polls and abandoned the projects after winning the election.

They have been telling Onua News’s Akua Sarpomaa who toured the area with myriad of challenges confronting them, spanning from road infrastructure, an abandoned teachers’ quarters, deficient health services among others.

She presented on Onua Maakye Wednesday, August 2, 2023, what she saw.
