Ashanti Regional Minister Writes
This morning, Monday, October 10, 2022, I had the privilege to host two distinguished Diplomats in my office-the Danish Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Tom Norring and UNICEF GHANA Country Rep, Anne-Clare.
The purpose of the visit to me, was among other things, to call on me ,as courtesy demands ahead of commissioning of projects undertaken by them, in collaboration with the government of Ghana-the COVID-19 Resilience Initiative (WASH/SOCIAL PROTECTION)
The purpose of the projects is to improve healthcare and education with primary and Secondary impacts of virus on children, adolescent girls and women in the participating Districts.
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Kwadaso and Asokore-Mampong Municipalities are the beneficiary Assemblies.
I used the opportunity to express, on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and on my own behalf, gratitude to the Danish government for their support, especially, during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I also commended the WASH programme and noted that the programme has come at a time the region was keen on improving the sanitation of the people, especially, girls and women.
Further, I assured the Danish Ambassador, Tom Norring and the Unicef Rep of the ARCC’S preparedness to support any projects that will improve both, economic and social well-being of the people of Ghana.
Later, I joined the two Diplomats to commission the WASH facility at Kwadaso M/A Basic school.
