The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency , Benito Owusu Bio has been booed by residents of Asuofua over lack of development in the area.
Touring the constituency with Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, 2024 running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, flag bearer of the ruling NPP, the Deputy lands and natural resources minister in charge of forestry was abused by residents and party supporters who were gathered at the Asuofua lorry terminal yesterday to welcome Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
The agitated residents were not satisfied with the performance of their MP since the year 2000.
According to them “they are not happy about the state of the roads, water, health facilities,educational facilities among others so if they see anybody in authority, especially their non- perform MP , definitely they have to react this way,” they said.
Residents who were agitated by the poor state of the roads staged a protest when Benito Owusu Bio was introduced to deliver a message to the constituents.
As soon as he was introduced ,the residents started insulting him for blocking their chances of getting development in the area.
The insults and hootings escalated when the MP stated in his verbal speech that his tenure of office as the MP has developed Atwima Nwabiagya North.
It took the interven of the DJ who professionally mixed the unpleasant insults with a song with high pitch to distract the charged residents.
Benito Owusu Bio who felt embarrassed ended his speech abruptly to escape more insults and personal attacks.
