The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah has made it clear that there’s no way a politician can steal money without the concern of a technocrat.
According to him , technocrats lead Politicians into temptation because sometimes the politicians are innocent but the technocrats are the very people who teach them how to manipulate, massage and inflate figures on contracts and purchase of items for office work.
He made it clear that, there’s no way a politician will append his signature on a cheque without the concern of technocrats who work at various government offices, adding that the media end up blaming politicians, leaving out the technocrats who are the Chief architect on corruption alone.
“If corruption could be fight in the Country ,technocrats must be held accountable to any embezzlement of money in the government offices because most of the government appointees (Politicians) are naive about how to manipulate figures and steal.”He indicated.
Mr Simon Osei Mensah made this known at a stakeholders dissemination workshop organized by the Ghana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative today at the Golden Bean hotel in Kumasi .
