Friends Club 50, last Friday donated food items, drinks, toiletries to the Cherubs Children orphanage at Santasi Apire, Kumasi.
On the group’s one year anniversary, members of the Friends Club 50 which comprises of 50 young and industrious men drawn from home and abroad with various kinds of profession visited their younger counterparts at the Cherubs Children orphanage to present variety of gift items.
Mr. Isaac Asamoah, President of the club, who presented the items, expressed their delight in seeing the smiles in the faces of young children at the arrival of the items to be presented. He added that, their donation is not going to be the first and the last, however, the club shall make it area of focus to help put smiles on the faces of the needy and less privileged in the society.
“Our club amidst today donation have come to realise that there is much to be done as responsible men in our societies and we shall be committed to improve the livelihoods and living conditions of humanity, such as these young heros.
The items donated today were contributions from the members of the club.This is our true representation,” he stated.
Some members of the group, however, pleaded with current government and yet to come government to include orphanage homes into the Free Education System.
Elder Nicholas Osei Bonsu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Cherubs Children’s home, who received the items appreciated the Club for having the children at heart despite the economic challenges.
He thanked the gentle men and assured them of the blessings that comes in sharing with the poor and needy,especially, those in various homes.
“All developed nation have reached where they are because they put first Social Services. that is the need of the less privilege people in their society. And can assure the Ghana government that once they prioritize social service, Ghana will move as expected,” he concluded.
