In a unanimous decision, Hon. Joseph Amankwah has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwabre East, polling 44 out of 44 total votes cast by assembly members during his confirmation.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in his career, and he has expressed his gratitude to the President, assembly members, and other stakeholders for their support.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Amankwah humbly accepted the responsibility bestowed upon him, stating, “I accept this responsibility with clear eyes and a willing heart.”
He expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for the confidence he has reposed in him and to all the gallant men and women who make up his cabinet and advisers.
Hon. Amankwah also acknowledged the support and counsel of all the traditional leaders in the Municipality, emphasizing the importance of their wisdom and blessings for peace and progress.
He thanked the Honorable Assembly Members and Government Appointees who participated in the confirmation process, commending their commitment to local governance in Kwabre East.
The confirmation process was notable for the presence of the current Member of Parliament, Honorable Onyina Acheampong Akwasi Gyamfi, and the immediate past MCE, Honorable Opoku Agyemang.
Hon. Amankwah highlighted this as a demonstration of unity in the Municipality, stating, “This is unprecedented and it shows that there is unity in the Municipality.”
Hon. Amankwah pledged to lead with humility, honesty, and responsiveness to the needs of the residents of Kwabre East. He emphasized the importance of setting aside personal interests and political divisions to ensure the collective progress of the municipality. His mission is to lead Kwabre East into a bold chapter defined by purpose and service, transforming the municipality into a sustainable industrial, economic, and social powerhouse.
Hon. Amankwah expressed his eagerness to work with all stakeholders, including the Kwabre East Municipal Assembly Staff, the Police, and the Electoral Commission. He pledged to work with traditional leaders, assembly members, and residents to achieve significant milestones and build a better future for the municipality.
With the unanimous support of the assembly members, Hon. Joseph Amankwah is poised to lead Kwabre East into a new era of development and progress.
