In a move aimed at strengthening the school feeding program in the Western Region, President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Madam Gladly Egyin, the Western Regional NDC Women’s Organizer, as the new Regional Coordinator for School Feeding.

The school feeding program, which was initiated in 2005, aims to provide meals to children in public basic schools, increase school enrollment, attendance, and retention, reduce short-term hunger and malnutrition, and promote domestic food production .
