MTN contributes over 54.0 billion in gov’t revenue

Dr. Daniel Asare, Ag Chief Enterprise Business Officer at MTN Ghana has stated that, they have contributed over Gh¢54.0 billion in government revenue over the years.

According to him, MTN Ghana is on course to achieve one billion USD in network expansion by the end of 202, with population coverage for 2G/3G 99.5% 4G is 99.3%.

He said ,the network Telephony sites, extending network to rural areas are 374 in 2023 capex spend USD 210 million and digital coverage with 4G, 260/260.

Speaking at 2023 media and stakeholders forum in kumasi, on the theme: Leveraging Technology to Serve Customers through media Excellence,he noted that, their challenges has been fiber cut as a major issue with Momo fraud and network as other challenges affecting their operations.

He disclosed that, the MTN is into a 25 million dollars Ghana ICT hub to empower the youth in their support to Ghana’s government digital agenda, and has already invest Gh¢93.2 million cedis in social impact.

He stated that, MTN foundation has specifically enhanced its focus on digital areas, and donated 6440 blood unit this year alone from staff and their customers who share their vision and mission.

He revealed that MTN operates nineteen (19) markets and service more than 289 million customers, with their priorities which includes building the largest and most valuable platform, drive industry leading connectivity operations, creates share value and accelerate portfolio Transformation.
He reiterated that, their ambition is rooted in four big shifts, and are transforming customer service experience by leveraging Technology, process centric to customer centric, physical to digital and Multi channel to Omni channel.

Mr Asare indicated that, ISO is 27001 certification, GSMA Mobile Money certificate 45 million active subscribers (90) days, while over 280.000 active agent outlets in 30 days with over 14,000 active merchants outlets.
