MTN Ghana has taken a significant step towards bridging the digital divide in the Upper West Region with its recent stakeholders’ forum in Wa. The event brought together traditional leaders, policymakers, business owners, and media representatives to discuss ways to align MTN’s services with local needs and drive digital transformation.
Key Initiatives.
– Abena.ai: Ghana’s first multilingual AI voice assistant, supporting communication in Twi, Ewe, Hausa, Ga, Dagbani, and English.
– MTN DigiFest platform: An interactive space promoting digital literacy.
– MoMo Business App: Empowering SMEs with advanced financial management features.
MTN has invested over GH¢1 billion in digital infrastructure in the past five years, with GH¢240 million allocated in 2025 to enhance fibre and 4G networks ahead of the 5G rollout. The company prioritizes transparency, gender balance, and data protection in its operations.
The Wa engagement is part of a nationwide effort, with plans to cover all 16 regions, ensuring customer voices remain central to MTN’s strategic direction.
Local stakeholders praised MTN’s developmental role and suggested decentralizing customer service operations for smoother delivery.
