Tension is brewing in Atwima Nwanbiagya South in the Ashanti Region as NDC party executives vehemently reject former Parliamentary candidate Osei Wisdom Boama for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position.
The executives are up in arms, accusing Boamah of orchestrating the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) defeat in the constituency.
According to Abu Saddick, NDC chairman for Atwima Nwanbiagya South, the party executives are disappointed and angry that Boama is being considered for the MCE position despite his alleged incompetence. “We cannot work with him,” Saddick emphasized, calling on national executives to consider alternative candidates.
Meanwhile, Hajia Fati Adams, Atwima Nwanbiagya South woman organizer, raised concerns about the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) in the constituency. She alleged that some individuals have sold the school feeding program to unknown parties, urging national executives to investigate the matter.
The growing tension within the NDC in Atwima Nwanbiagya South highlights the challenges faced by political parties in selecting candidates for key positions. As the party navigates this internal conflict, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.
