Nkwanta South MP, Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Kini, has expressed serious concerns about the poor performance of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Oti Region, specifically in Nkwanta South. He accuses the ECG of “sabotaging” the government’s efforts by failing to provide stable electricity, leading to frequent power outages (Dumsor).
Speaking to XYZ news and Ibrahim Nsor Dr. Kini, who recently assured his constituents of his commitment to working with the newly confirmed MCE, Hon. Joseph Antwi, to develop the municipality, is calling on the ECG to address the power issues urgently. He warned that the ongoing power outages are creating an unsafe environment in Nkwanta South, particularly at night, with recent reports of shootings.
Dr. Kini further alleges that some individuals within the ECG are deliberately causing the Dumsor situation to undermine the government, and he urges the ECG to investigate these claims. He emphasizes the need for a swift and effective solution to the power problems in Nkwanta South and the Oti Region as a whole.
