The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the National Pensioners Association NPA, Mr. Adarkwa Tuffour, has made a passionate plea to private individuals to enroll in the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) retirement package without delay.
Mr. Adarkwa in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng emphasized that registering with SSNIT guarantees a secure future, as members receive a monthly salary after retirement.
Speaking from personal experience, Mr. Adarkwa revealed that he has received monthly payments from SSNIT for over 20 years since his retirement.
He credited SSNIT’s support as the backbone of his survival and encouraged others to follow suit.
SSNIT’s benefits extend beyond monthly pensions; they also provide Old Age Benefit, Invalidity Benefit, Survivors Benefit among others .
Additionally, the Self-Employed Enrolment Drive (SEED) initiative by SSNIT focuses on enrolling self-employed persons and workers in the informal sector to contribute regularly and enjoy these benefits.
Mr. Adarkwa’s call to action came during SSNIT’s 2024 annual engagement with pensioners in the Ashanti Region.
He expressed gratitude to SSNIT for their timely disbursement of funds to pensioners every month.
