The 1999 year group of the Prempeh College in Kumasi has build and Commission a 3-bedroom banglow and 225,000 liters polytank for their Alma matter to reduce accommodation for teachers on campus.
Senior Michael Nketiah, President of the 1999 year group explained that, the gesture is part of activities to Mark their silver jubilee with legacy projects to enhance teaching and learning on campus at the cost of Gh¢1.4,000.000.00
Speaking and the Commissioning and handing over ceremony of the facility, stated that, their achievement milestone has contributed to their communities and beyond and for that matter, members excel in several fields making a difference in the lives of many and uplifted the image of their year group.
According to him, they have embark on mentorship programme with carrier experts to help current students in looking into the future.
He urged members to recommit themselves to the values and define them , and be a beacon of inspirations to the young generation to also lead and serve to the same zeal that has brought them this far.
Very Rev. Louis Asare, Headmaster of the School expressed his profound gratitude to the 1999 year group for the laudable initiative to absorb the accommodations problems facing the school.
According to him, the school can boast of about 4,608 students with 203 and only 32 teachers have accomodations on campus, which he said could be a risk to the management and security of the students.
He stressed that, the edifice and the water facilities have come at the right time.
He also urged the current students to take keen interest in what their Seniors have done by emulating the shining example to also give back to the school after they had left.
Engineer Charles Donkor, CEO of DCHAR-GA constructions Ltd (Father Charles) a member of the group, disclosed that, the facility includes 3-bedroom, all with separate toilet and bathroom facilities with one extra washroom for visitors and kitchen.
He stated that, the project started in May, 2024 and was completed on July 14th 2024.
