The people of Sekyere Afram Plains in the Ashanti region are calling on the President of the Republic of Ghana to bring them a new person in the appointment of DCEs who will champion the development of the district.
According to them,most of the citizens are fed up and disappointed with the current DCE in the person of Mr. Joseph Owusu, popularly known as ‘Odenekyem’ for a lot of abandoned and uncompleted projects in the district.One of such projects which has caught the attention of many citizens is the abandoned Corn Mill project which was expected to serve as income generation for the people with disability in the district. Lamenting to the media, one of the physically challenged persons iterated that they have pursued the DCE to get the project completed but to no avail. He added that , because of their inability, they wished the project could have been the automatic corn mill which would be powered by electricity rather than manual one which many of the group members cannot work with.
In related development, the toilet project which would serve as the only place of convenience to many people who come to ply their trade at Drobonso during market days and other suburbs in the town has also been abandoned and left to rot. All these issues were made known by the President of the Concern Citizens of SEKYERE Afram Plains District ,Mr. Boakye Yiadom.
