Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Member of Parliament for Asokwa says her mindset is to ensure that before she leaves power women in Asokwa would be resourceful.
Speaking to the media during a capacity building workshop she had put together for polling station women organisers in Asokwa, the legislator said nothing beats being a resourceful woman.
Apart from the dignity it brings, the MP said it makes women independent and enables them to share in the responsibilities in the house with their partners.
“My mindset and desire is to see women in Asokwa do well in life and in business.This orientation workshops I hold every time is to achieve that aim of mine and make women break the old mentality that they are dependent on their husbands for everything”, Madam Appiagyei stated.
Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser:
Nana Ama Ampomah, the Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser for the NPP who was guest speaker, commended the Asokwa legislator for being visionary and determined to better the lot of women in Asokwa.
She noted that Mama Pat had found a way to instill in the women of Asokwa the principles of saving and processes to keep money in good ways for business.
This, she said would make women resourceful throughout life, urging them to take seriously the lessons from the resource persons and facilitators.
“We are able to help home very well when we are in business and are resourceful.Therefore it is very important for polling station women organisers to take advantage of these workshop their industrious MP puts together for them to learn something new”, Madam Ampomah noted.
Resource Persons:
Mrs Margaret Jackson, resource person and facilitator for the workshop urged the NPP women to learn the art of savings.
This would seem initially difficult, the facilitator noted but said a consistent approach to same would be immensely beneficial to them in future.
Mr Joe Jackson, a well known financial consultant and resource person encouraged the women to engage in activities that would yield returns to keep them in business.
He tasked the women to be deliberate in their savings culture and maintain a strong focus so as to be able to grow their businesses.
Present at the 5 hour training workshop were Queen mothers from the electoral areas of Asokwa, the constituency executives of Asokwa NPP as well as electoral area coordinators and NPP sympathisers.
