The Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region met with the media in the Assembly’s Hall to discuss development issues in the Municipal.
In her presentation to a well packed hall, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Assembly, Hajia Salma Sani Mohammed Adams Kuta said health sector has been her first priority in the Assembly and she has constructed a 3 — story medical block at the Nima Government Clinic.
She further said she has also constructed a 12 seater water closet facility situated at the 37 Military Hospital basic school and also a storage facility for the Nima Government Clinic, and has also rehabilitated the children and recovery ward at the Nima Government Clinic.
On the issue of Education in the Municipal Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive told the press that she has constructed a 3 – story unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at the Flagstaff house basic school, rehabilitation a 2 – story 12 unit classroom block for the Kanda cluster of schools, rehabilitation of 3 — unit Kindergarten ( Kg) block with ancillary facility at Islamic Training Institute as well as a 6 unit classroom block at Al- Waleed basic school.
1, 670 dual desks were provided, 1, 830 mono desks, 437 sets of teachers chairs and tables, 80 sets of hexagonal desks and the donation of 740 dual desks by the Ministry of Education to support inadequate furniture,” she said, adding that the Municipal Assembly have further constructed Tafsliya Islamic basic school and was also commissioned.
On her presentation on the issue of Security in the Municipal Assembly, she said that the Assembly have installed and extended security lights in some suburbs of the Assembly from the year 2018 thorough 2020 as plans are far advanced to extend the project to other parts of the Assembly indicating that the construction of Kanda Zonal Council Office and the Municipal Assembly Office have been giving a befitting phase lift for administrative works to
run on well.
She touch on other projects in the Municipal Assembly such as, construction of the Administration block of Kanda Technical Institute and the rehabilitation of Islamic Basic School, as well as pedestrian bridges, and stone pitching and metal fencing at the Kanda Overpass.
The Assembly have also disburse cash and items to 245 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) and the registration of persons into the NHIS scheme with over 11, 683 persons with the cards in the community and also gave support to disaster victims with cash and other items…. Story by Bugbila Moadow.
