Hon Joseph Frimpong Bonsu, the District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West has said that ,the current NPP government headed by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo has invested in the Agricultural sector heavily more than any other government in the Country.

He said, since 2017 that the NPP government came to power most of their investments were channeled to the Agricultural sector to the extent of increasing a bag of Cocoa price to a whooping ghc1,300, which he said is unprecedented.

“The NPP government has also done well in distributing free fertilizers and agro chemicals to the various farmers across the Country and also created additional jobs to the unemployed youth by recruiting them to do cocoa pollination and pruning in the various farms across the Country.

He said, the Cocoa pollination and the distribution of free fertilizers to farmers have helped them increase their yield which he believes is a nice policy ever initiated by the government of the day.

Hon Bonsu further indicated that ,the forging character has motivated alot of the youth to go into farming because they have free access to fertilizers, seedlings and other equally important farming inputs needed to make farming easier and attractive.

This he said has reduced the tendency of unemployment rate in his District and Ghana at large.

Speaking in an interview with The Punch Newspaper at Adadekrom,a farming community in his area during the celebration of the 39th National Farmers’ Day held on December 1st ,2023 ,the DCE said the policies initiated by the NPP government in the Agricultural sector such as planting for foods and jobs ,free distribution of seedlings among other things have reshaped human lives and increased economic growth.

He said, the NPP government has reduced the burden on parents with the introduction and implementation of the free education policy.

According to him , monies that parents would have used for school fees have been absorb by the government and that parents need not to pay anything before their wards are admitted to Senior High Schools.

He said the free education policy has also helped responsible parents to save money towards their future lives and the welfare of their children.

“All these policies and plans wouldn’t be thwarted if Dr Mahamodu Bawumia is giving the chance to break the ‘8’ with him as the Presidential Candidate of the NPP.

The current vice President has plans for Ghanaians so giving him the opportunity to continue the good work of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo will take Ghana to the needed destination”He Added.
