Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Augutus Andrews , has stated that access to credit facilities, particularly for women will be a major focus for former President John Dramani Mahama in his next administration.
That, he explained, was because of the recognition that women played crucial roles in all aspects of the economy.
“Empowering women with credit to invest in businesses will help enhance the socio-economic well-being of the society and help reduce poverty in the country hence the introduction of the Women’s Development Bank by John Dramani Mahama in his second coming ,he stated.
The affable Ashanti regional chairman stated these when he in the company of the workaholic team from the regional party office stormed the Bantama constituency to embark on a clean up exercise with the parliamentary candidate of the area(Hon Kwadwo Addai Dapaah) this morning.
Chairman Nana Kwasi, affectionately called ,pointed out that, the current economic hardship experienced under the Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia administration was not conducive to business and hindered access to credit.
He attributed the situation to poor economic policies and bad governance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
“Businesses are collapsing under this government. Even some of the big companies are laying off workers while others are folding up due to high taxation,” he stressed, adding that “this development has given rise to high unemployment and poverty in our country. We must all come together and vote the NPP out.”
For his part, Hon Kwadwo Addai Dapaah, the parliamentary candidate for Bantama urged the market women to remain confident and rally their support behind the leader of the NDC, Mr John Dramani Mahama, and the Vice-Presidential aspirant, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, and vote massively for the NDC and himself as the Parliamentary Candidate in the December elections to secure a decisive victory to help transform the country, especially in the areas of job creation and accelerated growth.
