NPP USA Washington DC Area Metro Chapter Engages Ghanaian Traditional Rulers in the Washingtonn DC Metro

On Sunday, September 15th, 2024, the leadership of NPP-USA Washington DC Metro Area Chapter and representatives of NPP-USA Branch led by Chairman Ing. Janis Asare-Bediako, engaged the traditional Chiefs and Queen mothers Association of Washington DC Metro (Chiefs and Queens enstooled/enskinned in Ghana but residing in the DMV) to update them about the ongoing NPP campaign and also to dialogue with them on some of the NPP manisfesto policies relating to chieftaincy, cultural and family values. Chairman Janis in opening the floor for the discussion thanked the chiefs for their continous support of the chapter’s activities, highlighting how important their presence and support was in gracing the just eneded NPP@30 anniversary celebration. He also took the opportunity to formally inform the delegation of the chiice of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as the running mate to Dr. Bawumia and the strengths NAPO brings to the ticket. Chairman Janis highlighted manisfesto policies such as Reviewing Section 63 of the Chieftaincy Act to allow more participation and engagement from our traditional rulers, the commitment of Dr. Bawumia’s incoming government to pay Living Allowances to support our Paramount Chiefs, Divisional Chiefs and Queen Mothers and also the commitment of the next NPP Government to further strengthen the existing Ghanaian cultural and family values. On the subject of the ongoing galamsey menace, the NPP delegation appealed to the Chiefs for their support as key stakeholders in helping curb this menace. The Chiefs, on their part, thanked the NPP-USA Washington DC Metro Chapter for their continued engagement and dialogue with the chiefs and recognizing them as key stakeholders in the nation’s development. The Chiefs lauded the NPP manisfesto proposals and noted it was long overdue and a step in the right direction. They cautioned the NPP delegation to ensure the campaign promise does not end up to be just a vote seeking rhetoric but we must see to the implementation of such brilliant ideas. The chiefs also advised the delegation to ensure the NPP communicates the various projects and policies they have implemented because is upon such achievements that the Ghanaian populace will look to elect a new leader. Chairman Janis on behalf of the delegation thanked the traditional rulers and pledged the support of the NPP party in working with our traditional rulers and also the continous support of the local NPP chapter in working with our traditional leaders.
