In a demonstration of his commitment to the welfare of the people, Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, returned to Adum PZ, accompanied by the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), to assess the situation one week after the devastating fire incident.
The visit also aimed to monitor the progress made on the vehicular access route created over the weekend .
During his visit, Dr. Amoakohene was presented with a letter of apology from the traders regarding the misunderstanding that occurred when Hon. Muntaka Mubarak,Interior Minister, brought relief items, including rice and oil, to be distributed to the vulnerable.
The traders humbly requested that some of the relief items be made available to those most affected by the fire. This gesture showcases the traders’ willingness to put aside differences and work towards a common goal.
In a remarkable display of solidarity, Mr. Aboagye, a philanthropist, generously pledged GHC 500,000 to support vulnerable families and victims of the incident. This donation will undoubtedly bring relief to those affected and demonstrate the compassion and kindness that defines the Ghanaian spirit.
Furthermore, notice has been served to traders occupying the other side of the Abinkyi Market, where vehicular access is urgently required. They have been given the opportunity to remove their temporary structures to allow for development.
Dr. Amoakohene assured all affected individuals that they will be supported in the same compassionate and fair manner as those impacted by the fire.
