The Karaga district capital witnessed a massive turnout of residents, stakeholders, and community leaders on Saturday, October 4, 2025, as the District Chief Executive, Honorable Dasana, led a clean-up exercise to promote environmental sanitation and improve living conditions in the area.
The initiative, which aimed to rid the district capital of filth, beautify the environment, and promote a culture of cleanliness and proper sanitation practices, saw hundreds of people converge to clean the town. With brooms, shovels, and determination, participants worked tirelessly to clear drains, pick up litter, and beautify the surroundings.
Honorable Dasana led by example, urging residents to take ownership of their environment and maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the district. The event marked a significant step towards creating a healthier and more livable environment for the people of Karaga.
Honorable Dasana’s leadership and vision for a clean and green Karaga are truly inspiring, and his efforts have been appreciated by all. The clean-up exercise demonstrates the district’s commitment to improving sanitation standards and promoting a culture of cleanliness among residents.
This initiative is in line with the National Sanitation Day initiative, which aims to foster civic responsibility and promote public health across the country. Similar clean-up exercises have been held in other districts, such as the Atwima Mponua district in the Ashanti Region, where the DCE led a massive clean-up exercise as part of the National Sanitation campaign.
The success of the clean-up exercise in Karaga is a testament to the power of community engagement and participation in promoting environmental sanitation.
As seen in other parts of the country, such as Adoagyrie Nsawam, where the MCE led a massive clean-up exercise, community-led initiatives can play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and promoting public health.
The Karaga district’s efforts to improve sanitation standards and promote a culture of cleanliness are commendable, and it is hoped that other districts will follow suit in prioritizing environmental sanitation and community engagement.
