The Local Government and Rural Development Committee of Parliament has called on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, to bury their differences and work together in the interest of the District.

The call was made during the Committee’s ongoing public hearing to consider audit reports of various assemblies, the management of internally generated funds, and the working relationship between DCEs and MPs.

When the Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly appeared before the Committee, members expressed concern about the strained relationship between the two leaders, emphasising that such divisions could hinder the development of the District.

The Committee charged both the DCE and the MP to put aside personal and political differences and collaborate for the benefit of their constituents. It further announced plans to visit the District soon to help mediate and resolve the misunderstandings between the two political heads.

The chairperson of the Committee noted that peace and unity among leaders at the local level are crucial for effective governance, accountability, and the overall socio-economic advancement of the District.
