The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has engaged constituency women organisers and their deputies in the Central Region, urging them to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and intensify their efforts towards the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s preparations for the 2028 general elections.
The engagement, which took place on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Agona Kwanyako in the Agona East Constituency, brought together women organisers and their deputies from across the Central Region.
Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe attended the programme as Special Guest of Honour at the invitation of the Member of Parliament for Agona East, Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr.
The meeting, held at the residence of Hon. Sawyerr, provided an opportunity for the women party executives to interact, share experiences and discuss strategies for strengthening the party’s grassroots structures ahead of the next general elections.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe encouraged the women organisers to demonstrate greater commitment, dedication and determination in discharging their responsibilities, stressing the importance of their positions in building and sustaining the party’s electoral fortunes.
She noted that women organisers and their deputies remained an important part of the party’s grassroots mobilisation machinery and, therefore, needed to intensify their engagement with supporters and party members in their respective constituencies.
According to her, effective grassroots mobilisation, unity and teamwork would be essential in achieving the party’s objectives in the 2028 general elections.
She urged the women not to relent in their efforts but to remain focused on their organisational responsibilities and work collectively to strengthen the party’s presence across the region.
As part of her contribution towards supporting their activities, the Amenfi Central MP made cash donations to the women organisers to assist them in carrying out their various campaign and mobilisation activities.
Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe further advised the participants to maintain unity, love and peaceful coexistence, cautioning against divisions that could undermine their collective efforts.
She encouraged them to support one another, share ideas and work together irrespective of their individual constituencies, emphasising that cooperation among the women leadership would be important in strengthening the party’s organisational structures.
The engagement also highlighted the need for women leaders to remain active in their communities and sustain regular contact with the grassroots, particularly as political parties begin preparations towards the 2028 elections.
The women organisers and their deputies expressed appreciation to Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe and Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr for their support, encouragement and commitment to the development of women leadership within the party.
The programme ended on a note of unity and renewed commitment, with participants expressing their readiness to continue working together in their respective constituencies.
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by party leaders to encourage women organisers and strengthen grassroots participation in the NDC’s political activities ahead of the 2028 general elections.
