In a vibrant display of cultural appreciation and administrative synergy, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, alongside the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Hon. Kwasi Amankwa, officially received the organizing committee of the Bodomase Brafie Homecoming.

The visit, which took place at Kumawu, the District capital for Sekyere Kumawu , served as a platform for the organizers to extend an invitation to the regional leadership and solicit their institutional support for the highly anticipated homecoming event.

A highlight of the courtesy call was the presentation of a beautifully handcrafted beaded dress portrait to Dr. Amoakohene.

The gift, described as a masterpiece of local artistry, was intended to symbolize the creative spirit and heritage of the Bodomase community.

Dr. Amoakohene expressed profound gratitude for the gesture, noting that such gifts are more than just physical items; they are reflections of the soul of the Ashanti people.

“I am deeply honored by this thoughtful and symbolic gesture. This portrait reflects the rich culture, creativity, and heritage that define our people. It is a testament to the talent that exists within our local communities,” the Minister remarked.

The Bodomase Brafie Homecoming is designed to bring together natives of Bodomase, both home and abroad, to deliberate on the development of the township. During the interaction, the Minister lauded the organizers for their foresight in using culture as a vehicle for social change.

Dr. Amoakohene emphasized that “Brafie” (meaning “come home”) serves as a critical call to action for the diaspora to contribute to local infrastructure and human capital development. He commended the team for their initiative to promote unity and tradition, which he described as the “bedrock of any progressive society.”

The Regional Minister and Hon. Kwasi Amankwa used the occasion to reaffirm the government’s commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives that align with national development goals. Dr. Amoakohene assured the delegation of his full support, promising to work closely with the District Assembly to ensure the event’s success.

Dr Frank Amoakohene encouraged the youth to take pride in their traditions and avoid the erosion of local values.

He urged them to utilize the homecoming platform to attract investment into the local economy, particularly in tourism and small-scale industries.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose. As the Bodomase community prepares for this landmark homecoming, the endorsement from the Regional Minister and the DCE provides a significant boost to the event’s profile.

The organizers expressed their appreciation for the warm reception, stating that the Minister’s encouragement serves as a morale booster for the entire planning committee.

With the official blessing of the regional administration, the Bodomase Brafie Homecoming is set to be a transformative celebration of heritage and progress.
