The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region has officially announced the commencement of a major membership card registration exercise aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots base and deepening internal participation ahead of future political activities.
The registration, which forms part of the party’s broader restructuring and reorganization efforts nationwide, is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 10th February 2026, and will run until Monday, 30th March 2026.
The exercise is being spearheaded under the leadership of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Augustus Andrew Nana Kwasi, who has called on party faithful, supporters, and prospective members across the region to take full advantage of the opportunity to register and become officially recognized members of the party.
Strengthening Party Structures
According to party officials, the new membership registration drive is expected to play a critical role in strengthening the internal structures of the NDC, especially in the Ashanti Region, which remains one of the most politically significant areas in Ghana’s electoral landscape.
The issuance of new membership identity cards is also intended to ensure an updated, credible, and well-organized membership database that will enhance transparency and efficiency within the party.
“The NDC is committed to building a stronger and more united party from the grassroots to the national level. This registration is a vital step in ensuring every supporter is accounted for and actively involved in our collective journey,” a regional party source noted.
Call for Mass Participation
Mr. Augustus Andrew Nana Kwasi, whose leadership has been widely acknowledged for its commitment to party growth in the region, urged all members and sympathizers to participate actively in the registration process.
He emphasized that the membership card serves not only as proof of belonging to the party but also as an essential tool for engagement in internal party activities, decision-making processes, and future elections.
“This is the time for every committed supporter to stand up and be counted. The NDC belongs to the people, and our strength lies in our unity and numbers,” he stated.
Accessible Registration and Payment Options
To make the process seamless and inclusive, the party has introduced convenient platforms for dues payment and other membership obligations.
Members can access services through the official party website:
www.ndc.org.gh
Additionally, supporters may use the USSD short code:
92025#
These options are expected to encourage wider participation, particularly among members in remote communities who may face challenges accessing physical registration centers.
Building Momentum for the Future
Political observers believe the registration exercise signals the NDC’s determination to consolidate its base and position itself strongly ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
In the Ashanti Region, where political competition remains intense, the drive is seen as a strategic move to expand membership, energize supporters, and reinforce the party’s presence at the constituency and branch levels.
The campaign message, “Join the NDC, Register Now!” reflects the party’s renewed call for inclusiveness, growth, and active citizen participation in national development through democratic engagement.
A Rallying Point for Supporters
As the registration period begins, party supporters across the Ashanti Region are expected to respond positively to the call, making the exercise a rallying point for unity, mobilization, and renewed commitment.
With Chairman Augustus Andrew Nana Kwasi at the forefront, the Ashanti Regional NDC is poised to use this initiative to energize its grassroots machinery and strengthen its organizational capacity moving forward.
The NDC has therefore encouraged all eligible supporters to register promptly within the stipulated timeframe to secure their membership cards and contribute meaningfully to the party’s vision for Ghana.
Registration runs from 10th February 2026 to 30th March 2026.
