The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, Hon. Answel Sadat, has extended a generous hand of support to Muslim communities within the municipality as they observe the holy month of Ramadan.

In a gesture that underscores unity, compassion, and interfaith harmony, the MCE donated essential food items including bags of rice, sugar, milk, and Lipton tea to various Muslim communities across the municipality.
The donation is aimed at supporting families during the sacred fasting period, when Muslims around the world dedicate themselves to prayer, reflection, sacrifice, and acts of charity.
Ramadan, one of the most significant periods in the Islamic calendar, calls for fasting from dawn to sunset. For many households, especially the vulnerable, providing adequate meals for both suhoor (pre-dawn meal) and iftar (meal to break the fast) can be challenging. Hon. Sadat’s intervention is therefore expected to bring relief and joy to numerous families within Oforikrom.
Presenting the items, Hon. Sadat emphasized the importance of peace, love, and mutual support among residents of the municipality. He noted that leadership goes beyond administrative duties and must reflect empathy and solidarity with all religious and social groups.
“Ramadan is a period of sacrifice and spiritual renewal. As a municipality, it is important that we stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters, especially during such a sacred time. This small gesture is to show that we care and that we value the role the Muslim community plays in the development of Oforikrom,” he stated.
He further urged the beneficiaries to use the period to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the municipality, the Ashanti Region, and the nation at large.
Community leaders and representatives of the Muslim groups expressed profound gratitude to the MCE for remembering them during the holy season. They described the donation as timely and thoughtful, noting that it would significantly ease the burden on many families observing the fast.
According to some beneficiaries, the gesture demonstrates inclusive leadership and strengthens the bond between the assembly and the Muslim community. They assured the MCE of their continuous prayers and support for his administration.
The donation forms part of Hon. Sadat’s broader commitment to promoting social welfare and fostering unity among the diverse religious and cultural groups within the municipality. His administration has consistently emphasized community engagement and people-centered governance.
As Ramadan continues, the spirit of generosity and solidarity displayed by the Oforikrom MCE serves as a reminder that leadership anchored in compassion can make a meaningful difference in the lives of citizens.
