The Oforikrom Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region, under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, has completed the full renovation of the once-dilapidated classroom block at St. Benedict RC Primary School, popularly known as Kotei RC.
The renovation forms part of efforts by the Assembly to improve educational infrastructure and provide pupils and teachers with safe, modern and conducive facilities for effective teaching and learning.
The project has transformed the previously deteriorated classroom block into a more attractive and functional learning environment, giving pupils at the school a renewed sense of dignity and comfort as they pursue their education.
The condition of the facility had raised concerns over the suitability of the classrooms for teaching and learning. The intervention by the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly has therefore brought significant relief to the school community.
The completed facility is expected to provide a better environment for pupils to concentrate on their studies while also supporting teachers in the discharge of their duties.
According to the Assembly, the project goes beyond the physical renovation of a school building, stressing that providing decent educational infrastructure is an important part of creating opportunities for children and improving the quality of basic education.
The intervention is also in line with the Assembly’s broader commitment to addressing infrastructure challenges within the municipality and ensuring that schools receive the attention needed to support effective learning.
The renovation of the Kotei RC classroom block is being seen as a practical demonstration of the Assembly’s efforts to respond to the needs of communities through targeted development projects.

Speaking on the development, the Assembly emphasised the need to restore dignity to schools by ensuring that children are not compelled to learn in environments that are unsafe, uncomfortable or unsuitable for academic work.
The intervention at St. Benedict RC Primary School forms part of the Assembly’s ongoing development efforts, popularly captured under the slogan “Job Dey Grounds,” highlighting its focus on visible projects and interventions within the municipality.
For residents of Kotei and the wider Oforikrom Municipality, the transformation of the classroom block represents an investment not only in infrastructure but also in the future of the children who depend on the facility.
