MTN Ghana has officially launched it’s 2021 edition of ASHANTIFEST in Kumasi.
Ashantifest, is one of the regional festivals, designed to be held across the country, to promote the rich culture of the communities in which it operates.
The occasion is an annual ritual during which MTN organizes various events in ‘customer-base’ communities contributing to its growth, to appreciate their loyal patronage.
Speaking at the event this afternoon,Nii Adotey Mingle, General Manager of Northern Business District-MTN Ghana said,the year 2021 marks the 11th anniversary of Ashantifest and 25 years of Scancom Ltd.
According to him, considering the scale of the celebration, MTN should have been celebrating this with all the glamour it deserves had it not been for the unprecedented pandemic that has hit the Nation.
“As you are aware, the pandemic has drastically changed our lives and the way we do things.”He added.
He noted that,as a people, we have been able to wage a relentless and fruitful war against the pandemic and today we are seeing more than glimmers of hope in our recovery.
It is because of our bold resilience as a people that we are here to officially launch the 2021 edition of AshantiFest. I am happy to see that over the years, Ashanti fest has come to successfully complement the festivals we have in this region that showcase our rich culture and customs.
To us at MTN, AshantiFest is a fine opportunity to engage with our customers to further deepen our relationship with our stakeholders in this region. We also take the opportunity to educate people about our innovative products and services while soliciting for feedback on our services.
This year’s Ashantifest will be a unique one. Key highlights of the month-long celebrations will be:
A community football gala comprising Asafo, Kotei -Deduako, Fante Newtown, Tech, Abrepo, Bantama, Dichemso and Asokore Mampong communities on Saturday, 18th and Sunday,19th September 2021 at the Paa Joe Stadium, Kumasi.
The finals will be streamed live on MTN’s official handles. This match is expected to generate a lot of excitement and participation.
There will also be a data offer package of an additional 500MB for every data purchased for anyone in the Ashanti region during this period.
Nii Adotey Mingle further noted that,MTN Pulse Hangout, a program targeted at the youth will be live on MTN Social media channels on the 24th of September.
The 25th anniversary Golf tournament will be on 25th September 2021.
“In addition to these we will hold a Media Editors forum, community forum, commemoration of International Literacy Day and a courtesy call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. “He Stressed.
He said, as part of the 25th anniversary celebration, a lot of activities are being organized including Promotions to enable MTN say thank you to their cherished customers.

All MTN customers benefited from the Good day Ghana promo and our mega promo which will reward 25 customers with 25 brand new Hyundai Sonata cars is still ongoing. MTN remains committed to enhancing customer experience. In view of that MTN Ghana is investing USD207 Million into the network this year to provide users with a resilient network and to enable us modernize and expand the network. I assure you that Ashanti region has not been left out.
He then encouraged customers to take note of the activities earmarked for the Ashanti fest and participate fully.
