The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South, Hon. Daniel Dagba, is receiving widespread commendation for his remarkable turnaround of the Municipality, moving Akatsi South from the 18th position to 4th place in the latest District Performance Ranking and increasing the Assembly’s Internally Generated Fund (IGF) from GH¢1,800 to GH¢25,000 within just a few months in office.

This remarkable progress has positioned Akatsi South as one of the fastest-rising municipal assemblies in the Volta Region. The feat has earned Hon. Dagba praise from residents, Assembly Members, and governance observers, who describe him as a disciplined and visionary leader transforming local governance through results-driven management.

The first quarter ranking, which covered January to March 2025, had placed Akatsi South last (18th) among its peers. However, within weeks of his confirmation as MCE on April 9, 2025, Hon. Dagba led a sweeping reform agenda that lifted the municipality to 4th position in the April–June (second quarter) ranking—an unprecedented leap in performance within such a short period.

In a statement issued by the Assemblymember for Wuxor, Have, and Sremanu Electoral Area, Hon. Japhet Festus Gbede, he clarified misinformation circulating on social media that sought to associate the earlier poor ranking with Hon. Dagba’s administration.

“It must be clearly stated that Hon. Daniel Dagba was not in office during the first quarter of 2025, the period covered by the earlier ranking. He was confirmed as MCE on April 9, 2025. It is therefore both administratively inaccurate and morally unfair to link those results to his leadership,” Hon. Gbede emphasized.

He further commended Hon. Dagba for infusing the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly with renewed direction, accountability, and focus on financial discipline, which have led to visible improvements in revenue mobilization and service delivery.

“Within a matter of months, he has taken Akatsi South from near stagnation to a symbol of administrative excellence. Moving from the 18th to the 4th position and raising IGF from GH¢1,800 to GH¢25,000 is not accidental—it’s the result of effective leadership and commitment to good governance,” he added.

Residents across the Municipality have also lauded the MCE for his pragmatic leadership, describing him as “a man of action and vision” who has restored confidence and pride in the local government system.

“Akatsi South is no longer crawling; it is rising,” Hon. Gbede remarked. “Under Hon. Dagba’s administration, we have seen transparency, innovation, and renewed energy in development. The Municipality is now open for investors and partners who share our vision of progress.”

The dramatic rise in performance and internally generated revenue has since become a trending topic on social media, with many residents hailing Hon. Dagba for his transformational leadership and ability to turn challenges into opportunities.
