The District Chief Executive for Amansie Central, Hon. Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang, has announced a vigorous rollout of policy interventions aimed at improving road infrastructure across the district.
Addressing the gathering at the Farmers Day celebration, he emphasized that road development has become a top priority for the Assembly due to the critical challenges residents face in accessing markets, schools, health facilities and other essential services.
He revealed that the Assembly has already begun a phased programme to reshape and maintain major feeder roads linking farming communities to key trading zones.
According to him, the Assembly is collaborating closely with the Department of Feeder Roads to ensure that the most economically significant routes—especially those that support food transport—receive immediate attention stressing that a reliable road network is central to boosting agricultural production and minimizing post-harvest losses.
Hon. Obeng Agyemang further disclosed that contractors have been engaged to assess and work on damaged bridges and culverts across the district. These efforts, he said, will prevent communities from being cut off during the rainy season while improving mobility and strengthening the Assembly’s emergency response capacity.
He added that the Assembly is lobbying the government for additional support to fast-track ongoing and pending road projects.
The DCE maintained that the district’s growth potential is closely tied to the quality of its transport infrastructure, and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that every major community benefits from improved road access.
