The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amenfi Central in the Western Region, Hon. Peter Amponsah, has expressed his commitment to bridging the infrastructure deficit in the district.
During an interview with Punch newspaper, Hon. Amponsah emphasized the need for physical developmental projects to catch up with other districts.
He lamented the dilapidated state of roads in the district, describing it as “very worrying.”
Collaboration with the MP.
Hon. Amponsah highlighted his collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, in ensuring the development of the district.
He expressed gratitude to the MP for her support during his nomination and successful confirmation.
The DCE emphasized his willingness to work under the MP’s supervision, describing her as a “mother” to him. This collaborative effort is expected to yield positive outcomes for the district.
Call for Presidential Support.
Hon. Amponsah made a passionate appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to support the development of Amenfi Central District.
He specifically requested the president’s assistance in providing good roads, hospitals, quality communication networks, portable drinking water, electricity, and good schools. The DCE emphasized the need for these basic amenities to improve the lives of the people in the district.
Expanding the School Feeding Program.
One area of concern highlighted by Hon. Amponsah was the limited coverage of the school feeding program in the district.
With over 400 basic schools in the area, only 28 are currently benefiting from the program.
The DCE expressed his disappointment with this situation, noting that it deprives many children of the opportunity to access education. He urged the president to consider expanding the program to cover more schools in the district.
The DCE’s commitment to developing Amenfi Central District is evident in his words and actions.
With the support of the MP and the President, the district can make significant strides in addressing its infrastructure deficit.
The expansion of the school feeding program will also go a long way in promoting education and improving the lives of children in the district. As Hon. Amponsah and Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe work together, there is hope for a brighter future for the people of Amenfi Central.
