The Assembly member for Asafo Electoral area who doubles as a journalist, Hon. Ernest Okai, has resolved to help in the fight against malaria in his electoral area.
To achieve this, Hon Okai has instituted a bi-monthly cleanup exercise to clear choked gutters, stagnant waters, and weedy environment.
Since he won the mandate to serve as an assemblyman in December, 2019 he has embarked on seven massive cleanup exercise.
His latest cleanup exercise was at Asafo Neoplan station.
Hon Okai spoke to the media on the motive behind his cleanup initiative.
The mayor of Kumasi, Hon Osei Assibey Antwi participated in the exercise.
He commended assembly member for his great leadership skills and initiative to maintain a clean environment within his Electoral area.
The mayor used the occasion to implore other Assembly members to emulate same in a bid to make the entire city clean.
He called for support from residents to sustain the campaign.
