The National Democratic Congress (NDC)Chairman of the Ashanti region,Chaian Nana Akwasi, has embarked on a campaign tour of the Asante Akim South constituency with a call on members and supporters of the party to intensify their campaigns for the party to chalk up a landslide victory in the upcoming general election.
Chairman Nana Akwasi made the call when he together with his campaign team from the region embarked on a door to door campaign in some communities in the Asante Akim South constituency to demonstrate that the NDC was very active in the Asante Akim South Constituency.
Interacting with shop owners, seamstress ,carpenters ,sawmill operators, headdressers and Aluminum workers at Bogu and it adjoining areas,he noted with concern that even though the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had been the dominant political party in the Asante Akim South Constituency since the inception of the fourth republic in 1992, it had neglected the area in terms of development.
Chairman Nana Akwasi, therefore, urged the electorates to vote for the NDC in the December 7, 2024 general election to see the difference in governance and equitable distribution of quality development projects.
He gave an assurance that the next NDC government would see to the welfare of Ghanaians in the area of employment, quality education, good health care, among others.
Chairman Nana Akwasi stressed that among the top priorities of the NDC were job creation for the teeming unemployed youth and the restoration of the dignity of the nation.
He said, the NDC as a party would face the NPP boot for boot at the polling stations to prevent rigging.
This will help to protect the electorates votes if the NPP tries to rig the elections.
He, therefore, admonished the party’s polling agents to be vigilant on the election for them not to be overtaken by events.
On her part, the Asante Akim South Constituency parliamentary candidate of the NDC, Maame Sarfoah Appiah who was overwhelmed about the heavy turnout, advised them to translate their massive support into votes on December 7, 2024, for the party to sweep both the presidential and parliamentary polls.
She said she would use her position as an MP to lobby for development, being it market, schools, clinic, portal drinking water, etc.
She promised to set up a centre to train more unemployed youth and provide them with working capital and tools for them to venture into businesses of their choice, a policy which is very dear to the heart of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
Hundreds of party supporters who embarked on the campaign were happy to see the party gaining momentum in the constituency.
