Sheikh Abdul Haroun Moomen, the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam has commended MTN for its continued support to Muslims in Ghana.
According to him, before Covid-19 the company ensured they provided for Muslim heads and Mosques in the country during Ramadan and Salah festivals.
He said to his surprise, even with the outbreak of Covid-19 MTN without wavering continued with its support to them and provided Muslim heads with food stuffs during Ramadan and the ensuing EID.
Sheikh Moomen made these observations on Friday morning during a presentation ceremony by MTN at the Regional Central Mosque in Kumasi.
APPRECIATION:
Taking delivery of the items consisting of rice sugar, cooking oils and assorted drinks as well as cash donation and air time worth 500 cedis, the regional Chief Imam applauded MTN for the gesture.
He urged other companies to emulate the gesture of MTN by supporting faith based organisations in the country.
Sheikh Moomen prayed for MTN to be successful in the business arena and asked Muslims across the country to patronise the brand and enjoy the services it provides.
“MTN can only continue to support the Ghanaian people when it gets profit from the business they are engaged in and therefore I urge all Muslims to do well to patronise the brand and get access to the services it provides so seamlessly”, the Chief Imam stated.

Nii Adotey Mingle, General Manager for MTN-Northern Business District said the company welcomes the opportunity to support faith based organisations.
Ramadan and Sala, he noted are sacred events for Muslims, adding that MTN was committed to providing support during the observance of same.
He noted that similar donations were ongoing across the country including Accra, Northern , Ashanti and Western regions.
“This gesture today in Kumasi and others elsewhere across Ghana affirms MTN’S commitment to upholding its three prong values which is in the area of education, health care and human empowerment”, the General Manager posited.
