ASHANTI QUEENS DINE WITH NPP WOMEN’S WING

Twenty two (22) Queens in paramountcies and seventy one (71) others in other traditional authorities in Ashanti and Bono have commended the Ashanti Regional Women’s Wing for working to sustain the relationship they have with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking at a dinner organised by the Wing with support from the office of the Chief of Staff on Monday, Nana Agyakoma Difie II, Mampongmanhemaa said the queens willingly agreed to attend the event because of the good relationship they have with the Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser and the wing.

She asked that government appointees especially Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive (MMDCEs) learn from this and relate with the traditional leaders in a better way.

“I can say with everything in me that we honored this invitation to share a meal with you because it was coming from Nana Ama Ampomah and the NPP Women’s wing who have built a good relationship with us and have continually honored us”, Mampong Queenmother stated.

VICE-PRESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE:
Addressing the Queens, Mr Fred Oware, former Vice Chair of the NPP and representative of the Vice President said he was honored to see over 100 Queens gather to share a meal with the NPP Women’s wing.

He noted that the Vice President takes the issues of Queens and women seriously and would surely meet them in good time.

Mr Oware disclosed that the Veep intends to make Ashanti his home having been adopted by Otumfuo as a son.

“The Vice president intends to make Ashanti his home having been accepted by Otumfuo as a son so that he can learn of your challenges and fashion a way to help and support you to make your administration less burdensome”, Mr Fred Oware noted.

FRANCIS ADOMAKO:
In his succinct remarks, Mr Francis Adomako,  Ashanti Regional Organiser for the NPP praised the efforts of the Women’s wing and its leader.

He noted that if there was a wing that has been oiled and made very functional it was the wing of the women.

Mr Adomako asked the Queens to forgive any person in government or in the party who may have acted wrongly in times past and build bridges of peace in the new year with the NPP.

DCE AND MCE
Madam Rebecca Yeboah, District Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya North commended the Queens for honoring the invitation of the NPP.

She asked that the collaboration between the traditional authorities and the NPP government be strengthened.

Kennedy Kankam, Municipal Chief Executive for Asokore Mampong commended the Regional Women’s Organiser and the wing for putting up the new year meeting with the Queens and asked that the relationship between the party and tradional authorities be strengthened in the new year.

MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT:
Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Member of Parliament for Asokwa thanked the Queens for their support to the NPP.

She asked them to take advantage of government initiatives at the YouthStart directorate, Youth Employment Agency and many others to empower women in their jurisdictions.

ASHANTI REGIONAL WOMEN’S ORGANISER:
Addressing the Queens later, Nana Ama Ampomah thanked the President and the Vice President as well as the Chief of Staff for supporting the wing anytime they have come to them for assistance.

She noted that the idea and support for the meeting came from the Presidency and commended the Queens for honoring the government and the NPP with their splendor and presence.

Madam Ampomah said the NPP was mindful of the roles Queens play in the affairs of the Nation and would continue to show respect and honour them so that collectively they could develop the country better.

“I count it as an honour to my person and to the NPP to have paramount Queens and Queens from other traditional areas in Ashanti and Bono regions sit together at meal and to share their hearts with the NPP and I promise that this relationship would be maintained so that we can mutually benefit from it”, Madam Ampomah stated.
