In a heartwarming display of solidarity and support, Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, joined the Muslim community at the Kumasi Central Mosque to mark the holy month of Ramadan.
This gesture was not only a testament to the minister’s commitment to fostering unity and understanding among different faiths but also a reflection of President John Dramani Mahama’s dedication to supporting the Muslim community.
On behalf of the President, Dr. Amoakohene conveyed a message of peace and solidarity, highlighting the government’s deep commitment to supporting the Muslim community, particularly during their sacred pilgrimage.
The President’s key commitments include reducing the Hajj fee, fully developing the Hajj Village into a modern facility, and establishing a passport center within the Hajj Village to ease travel processes for pilgrims ¹.
In a moment of great honor, the Chief Imam conferred on Dr. Amoakohene a new name, Hon. Dr. Alhaji Abubakar Saddique, which the minister vowed to wear with humility and pride.
This gesture underscores the strong bond between the government and the Muslim community, as well as the minister’s personal commitment to fostering greater understanding and cooperation.
Ramadan, a sacred month of reflection, sacrifice, and unity, serves as a powerful reminder of the values that bring us together as a nation. As Dr. Amoakohene so eloquently put it, “May Allah bless all our Muslim brothers and sisters during this sacred period. Ramadan Kareem!”
Dr. Amoakohene’s visit to the Kumasi Central Mosque and his message of support and solidarity demonstrate the government’s commitment to promoting unity, understanding, and peaceful coexistence among all faiths. As the nation celebrates this holy month, we are reminded of the importance of compassion, empathy, and mutual respect in building a more harmonious and inclusive society.
