Dr. Frank Amoakohene, officially received the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) today, January 5, 2026. The high-level meeting marked the beginning of the Chairman’s working visit to the region, centered on a series of New Year engagements with key stakeholders. The visit is viewed as a strategic effort to harmonize the party’s organizational goals with the government’s developmental agenda for the Ashanti Region.
During the reception, Dr. Frank Amoakohene—the youngest Regional Minister in Ghana’s history—reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance. He noted that the presence of the National Chairman underscored the importance of the Ashanti Region as a cornerstone of national progress. The discussions focused on several “legacy” priorities for the region, including:
– Infrastructure Expansion: Accelerating ongoing road and healthcare projects across the 47 constituencies.
