In a truly remarkable display of his unwavering dedication to the welfare and prosperity of his constituents, the Deputy Finance Minister and highly respected Member of Parliament for the Asuogyaman constituency, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, has recently provided a reassuring reaffirmation of his steadfast commitment to enhancing the lives of those he represents. This commitment encompasses not only the completion of previously stalled development projects within his jurisdiction but also the initiation of a series of new and impactful ventures that are specifically designed with the aim of invigorating local economic growth while simultaneously enhancing the overall quality of life for the residents who call this vibrant community home.
During his heartfelt and impassioned remarks, Mr. Ampem Nyarko sincerely emphasized the pressing need to put an end to the troubling trend of abandoning vitally important projects, which have unfortunately often been left to languish due to the complexities of political maneuvering that can disregard the immediate needs of the community. He passionately asserted that any acknowledgment or credit for these monumental developments should rightfully take a backseat to their primary purpose: to facilitate tangible and meaningful improvements in the lives of everyday Ghanaians, especially those within his community who are in dire need of assistance and support the most.
This resolute pledge was made while he was actively commissioning three monumental projects, each specifically designed with the intent of contributing positively to the well-being of residents in the communities of Akrade, Mangoase, and Dzidzorkofe. Notably, this significant event coincided with the celebrations marking his birthday on February 14, 2026, infusing the occasion with an additional layer of significance, as he sought not only to celebrate his own personal milestone but also to express his profound gratitude and give back to the very people who have been a steadfast source of unwavering support throughout his political journey.
At the project site in Dzidzorkofe, the MP took great pride in handing over a meticulously constructed three-unit Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound, which serves as a crucial establishment aimed at significantly bolstering healthcare delivery within the region. Mr. Ampem Nyarko described the facility as an instrumental intervention that not only stemmed from the urgent request made by local residents but also had been thoughtfully expanded to offer a wider array of essential health services that effectively meet the community’s varied needs.
“This is a project I initiated completely from scratch and am elated to announce has been successfully completed. Initially, when the community approached me with a humble request to build a simple weighing shed for mothers, I recognized the profound potential for something much greater. Therefore, I made the decision to construct a more comprehensive facility capable of providing extensive healthcare services that go well beyond just postnatal care. Through thorough consultation with community leaders and careful planning, we now officially handed over this project, and I am incredibly pleased to report that a qualified midwife has already been appointed to work here,” he articulated passionately, radiating pride over the substantial accomplishments achieved through dedicated collaborative efforts.
Rebecca Bantey, the Asuogyaman District Director of Health Services, echoed the sentiments of excitement that surrounded this new development, labeling the newly constructed CHPS compound as a timely and essential addition for the community’s healthcare infrastructure. She highlighted the arduous and often perilous journeys that residents previously undertook to access necessary healthcare services, frequently being forced to travel long distances to reach the nearest hospitals in Atimpoku or Akrade. The introduction of the new facility, she noted, would notably mitigate the travel time for patients and drastically improve emergency response times, particularly for critical antenatal and maternal healthcare services, which are so crucial to ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and their children.
“Residents here have faced the challenge of traveling long distances for vital medical attention. With this facility now strategically positioned at the heart of the community, it will effectively help to reduce those prolonged journeys to healthcare services and cater to emergencies, especially regarding antenatal cases,” she emphasized, painting a vivid picture of the compound as a truly transformative asset that would significantly enhance the community’s healthcare landscape.
In addition to the advancements in healthcare, the MP also proudly handed over a community center to the residents of Dzidzorkofe, a remarkable project he ardently championed through to its successful completion, acutely recognizing the pressing and crucial need for a versatile space that could host a wide range of social gatherings and communal events, thus fostering a stronger sense of community connection and collaboration among the residents.
One local resident, Gameli Amevor, voiced his heartfelt gratitude during an interview with JoyNews, keenly remarking on the MP’s personal involvement in the project, which ensured its timely completion and the high-quality delivery of essential services. “You can clearly see the superior quality of the concrete floor here; the MP demonstrated a personal interest in the project at every stage to guarantee it was accomplished on time. He generously contributed all the necessary materials for its development, showcasing his unwavering commitment to our community. We are incredibly grateful because this facility will serve our community very well,” he said, underscoring the deep sense of ownership and pride felt by the residents over the new construction.
In a continued effort to bolster local infrastructure, Mr. Ampem Nyarko also commissioned two additional community centers at Mangoase and Akrade South. Collectively, these initiatives bring the total number of projects he has recently handed over to four, comprising three community centers alongside the CHPS compound located at Dzidzorkofe.
The palpable sense of excitement among the residents of these beneficiary communities was unmistakable as they joyfully celebrated the arrival of these long-awaited facilities, which they regarded as overdue solutions to the persistent challenges they have faced in organizing communal activities in the past.
Simon Agbetaokpor, the Assembly Member for the Mangoase Electoral Area, enthusiastically remarked that the new community center would directly address the pressing shortage of event spaces in the area. “For a great length of time, whenever we held funerals or other important events for commemoration, we had to resort to renting canopies and chairs, which posed significant challenges and financial burdens. But now, today, we stand in front of a permanent structure, complete with a solid concrete floor and adequate shade, perfectly suited to host all manner of social activities. We are absolutely overwhelmed with joy,” he expressed, his voice filled with evident pride and gratitude.
With the ceremonial commissioning of these important projects aligning with the MP’s birthday celebrations, many residents openly described the inauguration of these vital community assets as their most cherished Valentine’s Day gift for the year 2026. The entire atmosphere in these beneficiary communities was charged with a festive spirit, with residents joyfully heralding the projects as transformative catalysts for both healthcare delivery and social connectivity that would improve their lives immensely, forging stronger bonds among community members.
Additionally, at South Senchi Akrade, Mr. Ampem Nyarko ceremoniously cut the sod for the construction of inner roads. This crucial effort aims to enhance transportation links throughout the constituency while simultaneously boosting local economic activities, which are essential for sustained development. He took the opportunity to introduce the contractor to the residents, offering them reassurance and a firm commitment that he would revisit the area within a year to officially witness and commission the completed roads.
Furthermore, the MP revealed that substantial infrastructure projects are currently underway across all five senior high schools within the constituency. These projects focus on improving educational outcomes for the young scholars who are undeniably the future of the community. As part of his relentless commitment to youth empowerment and skills development, he also presented sewing machines and accessories to the first cohort of beneficiaries enrolled in the National Apprenticeship Programme, furthering prospects for the youth and opening doors to new opportunities.
In conclusion, Mr. Ampem Nyarko reiterated his unwavering resolve to not only sustain ongoing development initiatives but also to further bolster comprehensive development across his entire constituency. He emphatically emphasized that governance must prioritize continuity and earnestly strive to deliver genuine, tangible improvements in the everyday lives of the citizens he so proudly serves, ensuring a brighter future for all.
