Hon.Isaac Kofi Marfo, District Chief Executive for Atwima Mponua in the Ashanti Region has been accused of recruiting illegal miners from Togo to mine in the Offin River.
In a video sighted by The Punch Newspaper,it was detected that dozens of barrels of diesel were paraded at the river bank.

Again,boats, Chanfan machines and other apparatus needed for mining were busily operating inside the river.
The entire River body has been diluted with mud and is beyond recognition.
Source told the Punch Newspaper that,the DCE is responsible for that illegal activities simply because he has refused to address the situation since the mining started.
The illegal mining activities in the area has caused mass destruction to river bodies to the extend of preventing occupants of Bedaabuo,Beposo,Abompe all in the Atwima Mponua District from enjoying portal water for domestic and industrial use.
The said video has it that ,over 2,000 illegal immigrants have invaded the community purposely for the illegal mining.
They are therefore appealing to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to deal with their DCE because he’s responsible for the mess caused by the illegal miners.
Speaking to the DCE on phone ,he refuted the allegation,stating that he has never been to Togo let alone to recruit Nationals.
