Former Ghanaian Ambassador and National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart, Alhaji Said Sinare, has launched a blistering attack on former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating emphatically that he lacks the moral authority to speak on Ghana’s economy, after what he describes as years of mismanagement, deception, and economic betrayal under his stewardship.
In a strongly-worded statement, Alhaji Sinare questioned why Dr. Bawumia — who served as Head of the Economic Management Team during the Akufo-Addo-led administration — would even attempt to comment on Ghana’s economic situation under president Mahama, given the severe damage his policies and leadership inflicted on the country in the last 8 years of their government.
“Dr. Bawumia should be the last person to comment on Ghana’s economy,” Sinare asserted. “He presided over an era of economic chaos, record inflation, a collapsed currency, and unbearable living conditions. Ghanaians are still counting the cost of his failed leadership.”
Alhaji Sinare stated that the hardship Ghanaians are enduring today is a direct result of Dr. Bawumia’s inability to deliver on the lofty promises he made when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took over governance in 2017.
“He made a career out of criticizing the previous government of President John Dramani Mahama, parading himself as the economic messiah. But after eight years, he left Ghana worse than he met it. The debt crisis, joblessness, and collapsed businesses are his true legacy,” Sinare added.
The former Ambassador emphasized that Ghanaians will not easily forget the “economic deception” that was packaged in fancy lectures, charts, and flowery speeches, which turned out to be nothing but hot air.
> “Dr. Bawumia’s lectures are now national and international insults if he doesn’t know, someone must tell him. The man who once claimed he had the answers to every problem left the country bankrupt and went silent. That is not leadership — that is betrayal,he must stop talking about the economy” he said.
“You cannot ruin a nation and then pose as a commentator on the mess you created. Ghanaians are awake, and they won’t be fooled again,” he warned.
Alhaji Sinare concluded by urging Ghanaians to reflect on the past eight years and rally behind the visionary leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, whom he believes holds the key to genuine economic revival, stability, and inclusive growth.
