Mr Bright Asamoah Brefo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency, has made a generous donation of GH¢20,000 towards the reconstruction of the Bibiani College of Health and Allied Sciences‘ burnt girls’ dormitory block.

The dormitory block was recently destroyed by fire, causing significant damage to the educational facility in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

Mr Brefo expressed that his donation was a small contribution intended to alleviate the frustrations faced by the students and the college management. Out of the total amount, GH¢8,000 would be provided to individual students directly affected by the disaster.

Furthermore, Mr Brefo appealed to community members, mining companies, corporate organizations, and NGOs to support the school in rebuilding the burnt girls’ dormitory and replacing the lost items belonging to the students.

The principal of the college, Mr Thomas Ziema, expressed his gratitude to Mr Brefo for his kind gesture and assured him that the donated funds would be used for the intended purpose.

Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, the paramount chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of the National House of Chiefs, also extended his appreciation to Mr Brefo for his significant contributions to the development of the municipality. He urged others to follow suit and support such noble causes.

The fire, which occurred on June 6, 2023, resulted in the destruction of the girls’ dormitory block at the Bibiani College of Health and Allied Sciences, causing extensive damage to property, including certificates, uniforms, beds, mattresses, textbooks, provisions, and money, among other valuable items.
