Let’s unite for victory 2024-Mahama to party faithfuls

Mr John Dramani Mahama, former President and Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the ranks and files of the party to rest their differences during the internal party’s elections towards winning the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Addressing thousands of supporters in Kumasi on Tuesday January 24th, 2024 at the Kumasi jubilee park after the 24hr economy sensitization mega walk, he stated that, the NDC is winning the upcoming general elections with united force.

According to him, the Nana Addo and Bawumia government performing abysmal in terms of the economic management, Ghanaians are yearning for the NDC to restore the economy back on track.

He disclosed that, Kumasi is center of business and for that matter, if the economy is in mess, it affects the residents of Kumasi more than any region therefore there’s the need to remain united to rescue power from the NPP that plunge the economy into mess.

Mr Mahama stressed that, as a Country,we cannot leave Ghana into some small group of people to enrich themselves with the state resources, adding that, nobody is going to sleep on the elections day, and leave counting in the hands of the polling stations agents alone for it would be the responsibilities and duties of all members of the party.

He reiterated that, the NDC has the Men and Women to bring the economy back to ensure that every part of the country get its fair share of the national cake.

He said, the NDC respects the chieftaincy institutions and would not do anything to undermine the institutions.

He lamented that, the Jack Toronto and his junior brother wants to add VAT to the Electricity consumers which he said would not help anyone,hence the NPP government should not dare add VAT to the ECG consumers.

He is of the view that, power has override the Executives in government, considering Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana to Volta Chief, Mepe people whose homes were flooded by Akosombo Spillage.

He also lambasted Nana Addo for telling Kwabre East constituency chiefs that they can decide to vote anywhere they like and also criticized the recent comment by Nana Addo when some elders of Ekumfi visited him at the Jubilee House concerning lack of development in the area.

He said these show how arrogant the sitting President is and does not respect anybody, which he said President should not be speaking like that.

He disclosed that, every part of the country experience development anytime NDC is in government,hence the need to ensure that the ranks and files of the party from the branches, Regional to National remain united and close their differences to make the victory in the upcoming general elections a mere formality.

Some of the bigwigs that accompanied the former President to Kumasi includes Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the Party, Mr. Kojo Bonsu, and Dr. Kwabena Dufour the former flagbearer aspirants, while COP Kofi Boakye, the former Ashanti regional Police Commander and the Director General of legal affairs of the Ghana Police Service was also sighted by the media at the gathering at the Kumasi jubilee Park.
